Creative Card Making: Let's Mix it UP!
In the ART world using more than one type of medium in your work is known as MIXED MEDIA. Medium refers to what you are using to make your art! So if you are doing a watercolor painting the medium is watercolor. . . but sometimes it is GREAT fun to MIX IT ALL UP and play around with a variety of "media" on one piece!
- First watch my video. . . it is a bit messy, but hey ART is messy :) Fun and messy! - Second gather your supplies and prep some card paper - Third PLAY AND MAKE SOME STUFF! Cut, glue, draw, paint. . . have fun with it! Try and use the space on the card or cards well! Don't just draw a picture and call it quits. . . add different layers, add cool looking text, start with some lighter colors and then draw on top of them. . . These are ART cards :) Little mini masterpieces you can share with family and friends! - Share a picture of what you made with me :) Can't wait to see how you dig into some mixed up ARTSY Card making! What to work with? What I LOVE about mixed media is that it is all about PLAYING AROUND WITH WHAT YOU HAVE!
Generally, when I am getting ready to dig into some mixed media card making I tend to have these supplies ready to use! - scraps of paper, old cards, magazines, old Claire paintings :) - GLUE or glue sticks - colored pencils, regular pencils, markers, sharpies, crayons - paper to make into a card. . . and envelopes that fit the size - SCISSORS - stamps, stickers, - tape |
