Art Adventures
What do artists do? That is a question I often come back to when we are engaged in the process in our GBLUES Studio. We often spend time pondering the artistic behaviors while we engage in the creative process in class, but what will that look like now that we are doing this in a whole new format? Well... let's think about it. This is a unique opportunity for us to really dig into some creative thinking, develop new skills, problem solve, connect as artists, and have some fun! We miss spending face to face time with each of you so much and we will work through this together to figure out ways we can stay connected through the wonderful world of ART!
What will I do for ART this week?
COME UP WITH AN IDEA
There is such a big wonderful world of ART we can explore, so settling on your idea or art goal for the week can be tricky. Start with what you are interested in! Is it drawing a dragon, or making a book, or doing a guided painting, or just learning more about a particular artists. This is where the art choices on this site can help guide you in your idea generation :)
PLAN A BIT
Once you have settled on your idea do a little bit of planning. Think about what you will need, how can I set up a space to work, what will help me best get in the ZONE for art making. Maybe sketching will help work out some of the issues you may encounter with what you choose to do, or watching a couple demonstration videos.
MAKE and EXPLORE
Now get to it! Start to make something or learn something new! Remember it is a process and enjoy the time figuring things out. Every once and a while step away for the work and think about how it is going!
REFLECT and SHARE
When you think you are done. . . ask yourself a few questions. What is working with the piece? What were some challenges and how did you work through them? If you started over what would you do differently? What is something cool I learned from this adventure?
